2. Jomsom-Ghorapani - Pokhara

Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom (about
20 minutes) on an incredible flight path between
Annapurna and
Dhaulgiri peaks, landing in Jomsom on the Kali Gandaki River.
Following lunch, walk south
along
the river to Marpha, a traditional Thakali
village
with narrow stone streets and flat roofed
houses
(2 hours). |

Continue
gradual downhill but long trekking day to Ghansa along the Kali Gandaki
(5-6 hours). |

Continue downhill trek to Tatopani (means hot water) for the night and enjoy the natural hot springs near the
river. |

Begin uphill climb from Tatopani to Sikha or
Chitre for the night. (5- hours) |

Uphill to Ghorapani. (4-5 hours) |

Early morning 45-minute climb to Poon Hill (3,210 m) to catch the early sunrise on the
peaks. Return to Ghorapani for breakfast and begin the 3-4 hour walk downhill through thick
rhododendron forests to Ulleri, with
lunch on the way. |

Continue downhill walk to Naya Pul (New
Bridge) and the main road and transport back to Pokhara. |
This basic one week trek can be extended by trekking north from Jomsom to
Kagbeni (1 extra night) or further to Muktinath (3 extra nights), or
modified to reduce the time and uphill climbs between Tatopani and
Pokhara by taking the route from Tatopani via Beni to Pokhara (subtract 2
nights).
